Turbidity Barrier

Turbidity Barrier

Turbidity barriers are designed to restrict the flow of silt-laden runoff, to keep it contained in a limited area, and to allow the sediment to settle out before being carried into adjacent or joining waters. Floating turbidity barriers consist of a top floatation boom, an impervious skirt extending downward under the water, and a heavy chain sealed into a hem along the bottom of the skirt to provide ballast.
